Soontae An is a Professor in the Division of Communication and Media and an Adjunct Professor of Big Data Analytics at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. She currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Asian Communication Research. She previously served as President of the Korean Health Communication Association, as well as Chief Communication Officer and Associate Vice President for International Affairs at Ewha Womans University. She received the Minister’s Exemplary Service Medal from the Ministry of Health and Welfare in recognition of her contributions to national suicide prevention efforts in Korea. She is the author of multiple books, including Suicide Prevention and Health Communication, Children and Advertising in the Digital Age and has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles. Her research has appeared in leading journals such as Psychiatry Research, Archives of Suicide Research, Death Studies, Journal of Clinical Psychology, Communication Law and Policy, The Oxford Companion to the Supreme Court of the United States, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Media Economics, Journal of Health Communication, and Health Communication.
