Michell L. Temple, PhD, EdD, LPC, NCC, CRC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Associate Professor of Counseling at Denver Seminary, where she teaches in both the master’s and doctoral counseling programs. She also serves as teaching faculty in the trauma therapy certificate program at the International Institute of Postgraduate Education in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Dr. Temple brings over two decades of clinical experience in mental health and vocational rehabilitation counseling, working with adults navigating trauma, life transitions, spiritual and religious concerns, racial and ethnic identity, and career development. Her clinical work integrates evidence-based and manualized approaches, including EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy, within a wellness and resilience-oriented framework .
Her research and scholarship focus on resilience, stress, well-being, spiritually integrated therapies, and counselor identity development. Dr. Temple research demonstrates a commitment to fostering compassionate, ethically grounded, and relationally attuned counseling practices that support growth, healing, and meaningful transformation across diverse populations.
