Good Grief for School Professionals

About this live event

Good Grief for School Professionals trains school professionals to support grieving youth with confidence and compassion. This in-person workshop is designed for school professionals wanting to build their skills to effectively support students who are grieving. Through this training, school professionals will gain an understanding of children’s grief at different developmental stages, identify indicators of grief, and learn about current grief theory. This workshop will include interactive exercises and attendees will be provided with educational handouts, samples of grief-based activities, and templates for creating student support plans.   • Julie Hogg, LMSW

    Julie Hogg coordinates a designated ongoing family group and facilitates designated school groups. Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas A&M University and a Master of Social Work from The University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She volunteered as a support group facilitator for 6 years before joining the staff at Bo’s Place in 2023.

  • Yesica Lemus, MA, LPC-S

    Yesica manages Community Education, runs a family group, and facilitates school groups at Bo's Place. She joined Bo’s Place in September of 2021. Yesica earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and has over 14 years of experience in professional counseling and mental health.
