Integrating a Grief Centered Framework: Level One

About this event

Training Dates:
May 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 27 & 31
7–8:30PM EST

In a culture that often minimizes death and loss, grievers seeking meaningful support have often relied on the “Five Stages of Grief” introduced by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in 1969—originally intended for those facing their own mortality rather than for their loved ones. To address this gap, a more structured and integrative approach is necessary, offering practical tools and education for clinicians, grievers, and their support systems.

Trauma therapist, Meghan Riordan Jarvis, MA, LICSW, offers a comprehensive framework that fosters insight and prompts action, in creating a personalized grief process. Grounded in clinical research from various fields—neuroscience, bioscience, grief and attachment theories, trauma, energy work, integrative nutrition, and diverse spiritual and cultural traditions—a more comprehensive approach equips clinicians and grievers alike with the theoretical and practical training needed to effectively support all aspects of loss.

The curriculum is organized around six pillars: Mindfulness, Energy, Nourishment, Translation, Outside, Ritual, and Rest. This approach empowers supporters to build foundational knowledge, develop impactful skills, and instill lasting confidence that offers grievers enduring hope and capacity at any point in the grief journey.
