From Patients to Policy: 5 Ways to Put Health Advocacy into Action

CE Hours 1

About this live event

Health advocacy is an essential professional skill that enables health professionals to improve the health of patients, communities, and populations. This presentation will provide participants with a practical framework for understanding health advocacy and identify meaningful ways to incorporate advocacy into their professional roles. Participants will begin by defining health advocacy and exploring how it can occur at multiple levels. Concrete examples will help clinicians recognize opportunities for advocacy in everyday practice. The presentation will also highlight ways health professionals can use advocacy to promote accurate, evidence-based information and counter misleading claims that affect patients and public health. The session is designed to leave participants with greater confidence to engage in advocacy across multiple settings.
